Internal IP’s

Category: Networking &nbsp

All VPS.net cloud VPSes allow up to 2 free internal IP’s per node that can be used between all VMs in a cloud. All traffic between private IP’s isn’t counted towards your bandwidth quota and can be used for items such as MySQL servers or load balancing.

To add IP’s to your cloud VPS you need to go to the control panel and select “IP Addresses”

From there you can click “Add IP Addresses”.

You can then choose the server you want the IP assigned to and make sure the type is set to “Internal”.

Select the number you want and click confirm.

The system will then automatically issue new IPs. You can then configure them as an aliased IP on the primary interface of your VPS. If you are unsure on how to do this please see the online documentation for your OS/Distro.
